TV’s Wamsley inks to play baseball at Potomac State College

MILL CREEK — A dream years in the making became a reality for Tygarts Valley’s Jacob Wamsley when he officially signed his letter-of-intent to continue his baseball career at Potomac State College.

Surrounded by his family and coaches in the school gymnasium, Wamsley put pen to paper, committing to play for Potomac State College next fall.

The moment marked the culmination of countless hours of hard work, dedication and passion for the game.

Wamsley has been a key contributor to the Bulldogs’ success over the past four years. His positions include first base, third base and pitcher.

He is known for his strong bat, versatility and leadership on and off the field.

During his senior season, Wamsley is batting .478 with six home runs and 23 RBIs, while also making an impact on the mound and in the field.

In addition to his success on the baseball field, Wamsley was also a standout on the basketball court, surpassing the 1,000-point milestone during his high school career — an achievement that highlights his all-around athletic ability and dedication to multiple sports.

In his junior year, Jacob was named to the Potomac Valley Conference first team and received all-state honorable mention in baseball. He was also named to the all-Mason-Dixon Conference first team his junior and senior year in basketball and in his senior year he received Class A, all-state honorable-mention laurels and was named to the all-Potomac Valley Conference Division 2 team.

Wamsley has also excelled in the classroom, maintaining a 4.2 GPA. He plans to major in business administration at Potomac State, continuing to balance academics and athletics at the next level.

As he prepares to take the next step in his athletic and academic journey, Wamsley remains focused on finishing his high school career strong.
