Bucs rally for victory over RCB

PHILIPPI — Kale Wolfe struck out 13 and allowed just one hit in going all five innings to lift Philip Barbour to an 11-0 victory over Tygarts Valley on Tuesday night.
The Colts gave Wolfe all the run support he would need in the first, plating three runs as Anthony Mosesso lofted an RBI sacrifice fly to score Wolfe, Landyn Carpenter scored on a passed ball and Kent Rowan cracked a solo homer to left-center field.
Philip Barbour tacked on six more runs in the second with Braxton Carpenter lofting a two-run single, Rowan and Wolfe RBI singles and Parker Fincham drawing a bases-loaded walk.
Fincham and Landyn Carpenter added RBI sac flies in the third and fourth innings, respectively, to round out the scoring.
Jacob Wamsley went the first 1 2/3 innings in taking the loss, allowing six runs on two hits and fanning three.
Adams Woods and Cooper Markley finished in relief.
Zayden Defibaugh had the lone hit for the Bulldogs, who dropped to 13-14 and will visit Elkins at 6 p.m. today.
The Colts (13-12) will also be in action today, hosting Buckhannon-Upshur at 5:30 p.m.
B-U 10, Robert C. Byrd 9
TENNERTON — Buckhannon-Upshur plated four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning en route to a 10-9 Big 10 Conference win over Robert C. Byrd Tuesday night at William E. Phillips Memorial Field.
Trailing 8-6, Jerin Westfall drew a bases-loaded walk and Brody McDaniels lofted a sacrifice fly to right to plate Bryar Sandy to tie the game.
An error on a ball hit by Jaxon Spratt and Alex Wamsley’s RBI single then gave the Bucs a 10-8 lead.
Cooper Floyd cracked a solo homer in the seventh for the Flying Eagles.
Weldon Zirkle had a two-run homer in the fourth and Spratt a solo blast in the fifth that helped treat B-U to a 6-5 lead.
RCB plated three runs in the sixth to regain an 8-6 advantage.
Spratt finished with three RBIs in the win.
Anderson Levake had three RBIs and Xavier Carvelli two for the Flying Eagles, who are now 19-9.

Zirkle struck out four and gave up three runs on three hits in going 2 2/3 innings of relief and McDaniels struck out two of three batter he faced in the seventh.
The Bucs (14-11) return to action at 5:30 p.m. today at Philip Barbour for another league tilt.
