Randolph County Junior Legion cruises to win
GRAFTON — Trent Stone drove in four runs and went 3 for 4 at the plate as the Randolph County Junior Legion team blanked Taylor County Post 12 17-under, 11-0, on Monday evening.
Stone had an RBI double in the third, a two-run single in the fifth and an RBI single in the fourth.
Zayden Defibaugh had a two-run single and Mason Davis a two-run double as part of the six-run fifth-inning for Randolph County.
Cooper Markley twirled a five-inning, two-hitter to earn the win. He fanned six.
Grant Murphy was saddled with the loss for Post 12, going 3 1/3 innings and allowing five runs on five hits and striking out two.
Defibaugh, Corban Oldaker and Trevor Hogue finished with two hits apiece in the win.
Zander Ramezan and Nigel James accounted for the Taylor County hits.
Randolph County (2-1) was slated to visit Morgantown Post 2 Junior Legion on Tuesday evening.
