Randolph County Junior Legion squad formed

ELKINS — There will be American Legion action in Elkins this summer with the Randolph County Junior Legion squad hitting the diamond.

Due to a lack of numbers, Elkins Post 29 was unable to field a squad in the 2025 season.

The newly formed RC Junior Legion team consists primarily of players from Elkins High School and Tygarts Valley.

Former Tygarts Valley and Post 29 player Matthew Pratt is serving as manager and assisted by Steve Stone, Aiden Lambert and Steven Howell.

The current roster includes Cam Lambert (EHS), Mason Davis (TV), Cooper Markley (TV), Caden Kreps (EHS), Brentley Watson (TV), Zayden Defibaugh (TV), Preston Smith (TV), Corban Oldaker (TV), Drew Arbogast, Trent Stone (EHS) and Jacob Riddle (TV).

Randolph County is currently 1-1 on the young season, winning at Buckhannon Post 7 Junior Legion and falling to Bridgeport Post 68 Junior Legion.

The next game is slated for Monday at Taylor County and home games will be played at the Elkins High School Field.

Buckhannon, meanwhile, will field both a Senior and Junior Legion team this season and Barbour County a Junior Legion squad.

The current roster for the Buckhannon Post 7 Senior Legion squad includes Aidan Squires, Braden Cooper, Bryar Sandy, Ethan Garvin, Grant Harris, Jacob Frye, Jacob Wamsley, Jerin Westfall, Joel Good, Kent Rowan, Tucker Mason and Wyatt Mason.
