PHILIPPI — After earning Class AA all-state first-team honors in both volleyball and basketball, Philip Barbour’s Izzy Knotts has been named the MaxPreps Female Athlete of the Year for the state of West Virginia.
Knotts, a rising senior, recorded 644 kills, 492 digs and 163 blocks in helping lead the Lady Colts to their 24th consecutive trip to the state tournament.
She recorded her 1,000th-career dig at the state tournament as Philip Barbour advanced to the title game.
On the hardwood, Knotts again directed the Lady Colts to the state tourney, averaging 15 points, nearly 10 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest.
Providence Academy standout Maddyn Greenway was named the 2025-26 MaxPreps Female National Athlete of the Year.

A McDonald’s All-American and Kentucky signee, she won 13 state championships across three sports.
