D&E spikers drop conference contest

ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to West Liberty University Tuesday in Mountain East Conference action at the McDonnell Center.
The Hilltoppers (3-13, 2-0) won the match by the scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-27, and 25-15. Amira DuPree tallied 16 kills and 12 dogs to lead the way for West Liberty.
Dakoda Keni finished with 12 assists and two acres for the Hilltoppers, while Lilly Brinker had 11 digs and two aces.
Aliceya Ciftcioglu led the way for the Lady Senators (0-15, 0-2) with 12 digs, nine kills, one ace, and one assist. Neve Norris followed with nine digs and six aces, while Liene Dyjin had 18 assists and six digs.
Davis & Elkins will travel to Frostburg State University on Friday before returning home to face Fairmont State on Tuesday.

WHEELING – The Davis & Elkins College men’s soccer team remained unbeaten on the season after posting a 2-0 victory over West Liberty University Sunday in Mountain East Conference action.
Guzman Irigaray scored a goal off an assist from Lautaro Fernandez for the Senators (5-0-1, 3-0-1).
Davis & Elkins held a 12-3 advantage in shots-on-goal in the contest and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.

WHEELING – The Davis & Elkins College women’s soccer team captured its second-straight win with a 2-0 victory over West Liberty Sunday in Mountain East Conference action.
Davis & Elkins blanked the Hilltoppers (1-5-1, 1-4) in corner kicks by holding an 8-0 edge.
