ELKINS – Tristan Whited finished with two goals and two assists to lead Elkins to a 6-0 win over Preston Tuesday in Big 10 Conference action at Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers took control of the contest early and held a comfortable 5-0 advantage at intermission. Whited scored twice, while Luke Valentine, Tucker Cutright, and Kolton Ward added first half goals for EHS.
Cutright also assisted on one of the goals in the first half for the TIgers, who improved to 8-3-1 with the victory. Valentine added his second goal of the game midway through the second half to close out the scoring for Elkins.
“I was really proud of the way the boys played tonight,” said Elkins coach Scott Cutright. “They shared the ball well and did a great job turning our chances into a 6-0 win. I thought we brought great focus from the start and really stuck to our ideas. Just importantly, keeping another clean sheet shows how hard we are working on defense. We take a lot of pride in our shutouts, and this was another great team win for us.”
Elkins will return to action today when it entertains Lewis County for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
