TENNERTON -- Buckhannon-Upshur remained in the mix for a playoff berth with a 62-28 win over East Fairmont in front of the homecoming crowd Friday night at Freal "Red" Crites Memorial Stadium.
The win improved the Bucs, 15th in this week's WVSSAC Class AAAA ratings, to 3-4 on the season.
They will remain home next Friday to face Class AA, No. 11 Lincoln.
B-U did all of its damage in the first half on Friday night, rolling out to a 55-7 halftime lead.
The Bees, however, struck first when Tyler Hudson connected with Connor Wilson on a 79-yard touchdown early into the opening quarter.
But the Bucs then reeled off 55 unanswered points.
Quarterback Brody McDaniels accounted for five of the scores.
He hit freshman Kadeen Edwards on a 29-yard screen pass to start the barrage, then found Xavier Robinette for 18 yards to give B-U the lead for good at 14-7 with 4:50 left in the opening canto.
After the Bucs recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, Edwards broke free for a 36-yard run.
McDaniels accounted for the next two touchdowns -- finding Robinette for 29 yards and scoring on a five-yard run to extend the lead to 34-7 with 10:24 still remaining in the first half.
Alex Wamsley scored on runs of 6 and 33 before halftime and McDaniels hooked up with Jacob Frye from 58 yards out in between to push the margin to 55-7 at the break.
Freshman Thomas Durant had an 85-yard kickoff return in the second half to finish B-U's scoring on the night.
East Fairmont dropped to 1-7 on the season and will return to action Oct. 29 at home against Philip Barbour.
