MILL CREEK – Nehemiah Graham ran for 162 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Class A, No. 3 East Hardy to a 41-0 win over Tygarts Valley Friday night in Potomac Valley Conference action at Bulldog Field.
Graham tallied touchdown runs on the Cougars’ first two possessions of the game and Trevor Roof’s first touchdown pass powered East Hardy (6-0, 3-0 PVC) to a 21-0 lead midway through the first quarter.
Graham collected his third score of the game on an 11-yard sprint to the end zone with 1:06 remaining in the first quarter, pushing the visitors’ lead to 28-0.
Roof threw scoring strikes to Dayton Dove and Brinn Childers in the second quarter to give the Cougars a 41-0 lead at the half.
After a discussion at intermission, coaches from both teams decided to play a pair of modified, 1-minute quarters in the second half. The decision was made for player safety.
Roof finished the game 13 of 19 through the air for 171 yards in two quarters of action.
Isaac Maxwell led the way for the Bulldogs (0-7, 0-3) with 53 yards rushing on eight carries.
Tygarts Valley will entertain Clay-Battelle for a non-conference matchup next Friday. East Hardy will visit rival Moorefield the same evening.
