MORGANTOWN — West Virginia football announced two players are coming back to the program. MORGANTOWN — Women’s soccer kicked off the fall sports for West Virginia with a win, hoping to mean good things for the rest of the school year. The No. 20-ranked Mountaineers woke up in the second half to notch a 2-0 win over Dayton Thursday night, securing the first win of the season. WVU picked up the season-opening win while it celebrates 30 years of women’s soccer. This was the first of three home games for WVU, playing mostly local schools. FRANKLIN - The Tygarts Valley golf team opened the season with victory in a quad-match held Thursday at Fisher Mountain. The Bulldogs brought home top honors with a score of 175, ahead of second place finisher Pendleton County with a 184. Moorefield placed third with a 202 and Pocahontas County rounded out the field in fourth place. Tygarts Valley's Alijah Row-Sponagule was the low medalist with a score of 39.
