Mountaineers earn commitment from 2027 running back

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia football picked up its second commitment for the 2027 class in less than 24 hours. 2027 running back Lee Prince Jr. announced he’s committed to the Mountaineers on social media, becoming the fourth commitment of the class. WVU received a commitment Thursday afternoon from linebacker Mason Cerovac. Prince had multiple Power Four offers, including from Pitt, Oregon, Florida State, UCF and other Division I programs. CHARLESTON — Buckhannon-Upshur’s Jerin Westfall has been named to the Class AAAA all-state first team by vote of the West Virginia Sports Writers Association and released today. Westfall, a senior forward, was a 1,000 career point scorer for the Bucs. George Washington’s Noah Lewis was named captain of the first team. New WVU RBs coach brings wealth of experience

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia football’s new running backs coach, Jay Boulware, has been around football for a long time, coaching at multiple different stops and positions. He played offensive line in college, and after he was injured, he moved on to coaching. That was in the 90s. Boulware has coached the offensive line with Dan Roushar, who is the line coach with the Chicago Bears. Locally, coached under Mike Tomlin with the Pittsburgh Steelers, working with running backs.
