Garland and Flora Kelley

Garland and Flora Kelley of Helvetia will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 28 They were married July 28, 1973, at the home of the Bride’s parents in Frenchton.

Garland is the oldest child of the late Gerald and Bernadine Daetwyler Kelley. Flora is the only child of the late Dennis and Madolyn Tanner Bennett. They are the parents of Paul Kelley of Helvetia and Becky Parsons and husband, Jonn, of Buckhannon. They have four grandchildren, Hannah and Haley Parsons of Buckhannon, Dakota Kelley of Elkins and Etola Kelley Hendrick and husband Justin of Elkins.

Garland was in the U.S. Army for 11 years. The Kelley’s moved to a farm in Helvetia in 1980. He joined the Army Reserve and retired as a Master Sargent. They owned Kelley Trucking Company of Helvetia, Inc. Garland now works for the West Virginia Department of Highways in Buckhannon.

Flora was a homemaker, then worked for Res Care in Elkins for 12 years.
