Juanita Carr

Juanita Carr of Elkins will celebrate her 97th birthday on April 8.

She was born April 8, 1928, in Wymer, the daughter of the late Alvin and Phoebe Summerfield.

In January 1947, she married the late Joseph Elza of Wymer, and on Sept. 5, 1954, she married the late Vernon Carr.

Mrs. Carr has 11 children, Dora Fisher, Alvin, Sam and Wanda Elza, Dolly Collier, Ethel Smearman, Rich and Ronnie Carr, Betty Hale and the late Jimmy and Donnie Carr.

She also has 11 grandchildren, Patricia Mason, Robert Brown, Casey Shaffer, Traci Turner, Stephen Elza, Melissa Auvil, Kellil Hoofmann, Tiffany and Kayla Carr, Carla Hale and the late Kenneth Brown; and 11 great-grandchildren, Noah Carr, Ricky and Colby Shaffer, Shane, Faith and Jared Brown, Alisha and Peyton Turner, Owen Newsom, Emersyn Hoffmann and the late Charlotte Cooper.

Mrs. Carr retired from Davis Trust Co. and still works for Dr. Khan. She attends the Elkins Church of the Brethren.
