Hello from Barbour County. Spring is in the air. The first day of spring is March 20. Winter never lasts forever. Don’t forget to “spring ahead” this weekend. Daylight Savings Time will be March 9 at 2 a.m. This is also a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. They save lives. There will be a Winter Fair at Battler’s Knob on March 14 from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and March 15 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. There will be great food, entertainment, crafts and more. Come on out for a fun time. Hello from Barbour County, where we traded the snow for rain and flooding. Tacy Community Association will be having a breakfast fundraiser on Feb. 8 from 7 a.m - noon. Menu consists of buckwheat cakes, pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy. There will be a cost for adults, and for children ages 6-10. Children age 5 and under are free.
