I suppose the highlight of everyone’s conversations lately has been the cold temperatures.  Belington Bakery will be having its one-year anniversary party on Jan. 25 from 6-8 p.m. Come out and celebrate with them and enjoy poetry, music and storytelling. This is a free event. As the work crew begins their destruction of the former Sheetz gas station site in Belington this week, removing the underground fuel tanks, we have more sad news, this time from the Philippi direction. Medallion Restaraunt has announced plans to close their doors on Dec. 20. The Medallion has been in business for the past 32 years. Happy Thanksgiving from Barbour County. Deer season is upon us. To some, this is a holiday just as important as Thanksgiving and Christmas. I hope everyone is safe in the woods this year. There will be a Barbour County Community Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at Battlers Knob, Heiner Hall on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 3-5 p.m. (or until the food is gone).
