Wedding

Jocelyn Wyatt and Seth Young Judy Lane

Jocelyn Cornwall Wyatt of Vermont and Ko Cha Ta Seth Young, of West Virginia, will be married on Aug. 8, 2025, at Blackwater Falls State Park in Davis. The ceremony will be officiated by artist and mentor Valerie Mindel, with festivities continuing throughout the weekend in a celebration that reflects the couple’s shared love of art, music, community, and culture.

Seth and Jocelyn met in New York City in November 2022 and quickly began a long-distance relationship between Manhattan and Elkins. Seth showed Jocelyn the natural beauty and rich arts and culture of West Virginia and by September 2023, she joined him here full-time. Seth proposed to Jocelyn in May 2024 in Barcelona while on a vacation to Spain and France and the two immediately began planning their wedding celebration in West Virginia.

Jocelyn is the CEO of Alight, a global humanitarian nonprofit organization based in Minneapolis that serves over 4 million displaced people across 20 countries. She was previously the co-founder and CEO of IDEO.org, a nonprofit design and innovation studio and has had a long career in social impact and global development.

Seth is the CEO of the Augusta Heritage Center, based in Elkins, which is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of Appalachian and global traditional cultures. A musician and educator, he has taught thousands of students, toured internationally, and serves as a board member and community leader.

The wedding ceremony will take place on Friday afternoon, followed by a day-long public celebration on Saturday dubbed The One Love Festival, which will feature five bands (The Mud Larks, The State Birds, The Jesse Milnes Band, Juice Newsome and the Groove, and The Family Foundation), Big Timber beer, a community potluck, and a pig roast hosted by Charm Farm. The couple’s only registry is a curated collection of art by regional artists, which will be displayed in a gallery show at the lodge throughout the weekend.

The couple’s union will be reaffirmed during the One Love Festival, surrounded by friends and family and the mountains they love. Their wedding celebration is as much a reflection of their partnership as it is a love letter to West Virginia, a place they are proud to call home.

Starting at $3.92/week.
