Submitted photo Augusta’s Music Education Grant, awarded by the Chorus of America, began its journey through Randolph County Schools. Jennings Randolph Elementary third- through fifth-grade students were visited by Seth Young and Emily Miller of the Augusta Heritage Center, and students were introduced to the program by participating in singing songs from other cultures, American gospel and Appalachian music. School music teachers will collaborate with members of the Augusta staff on rehearsals and continued learning. The project will conclude with a special concert that will be accompanied by a meal, which will feature foods from cultures the students have studied.
