FOREST FESTIVAL GRAND FEATURE PARADE SEATS: Forest Festival Grand Feature Parade Chairs will be available in front of the Masonic Lodge, Elkins 103 at 26 Randolph Ave. The seats for Oct. 4 are on sale now. Please call 304-614-3376 to reserve seats. All seats will be paid for in advance. There are only second row seats available.

FALL FESTIVAL: The Tennerton United Methodist Church will be holding the 29th annual Fall Festival today from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. with the kitchen opening at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome for homemade apple butter, baked goods, trash ‘n treasures, and hot dogs. The proceeds will benefit church and community projects.
MEAT SHOOT: VFW Post 5781 will host a meat shoot today from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the post home in Harman. Refreshments will be served. The next shoot is scheduled for Oct. 18. For information contact Danie Ours at 304-227-4349.
BUCKWHEAT AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The Randolph Lodge IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat breakfast at the Lodge Hall along the Beverly Five-lane today from 7 a.m. until noon. The all-you-can-eat menu will include sourdough buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, milk coffee or orange juice, Carry outs will be available.
FARMERS MARKET: The Elkins Farmers Market, located behind the Railroad Depot, is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Lots of parking is available behind the Summit Church buildings. We have a large variety of vegetables of the season, eggs, cakes, cookies, jams, breads, flowers, crafts and more.
WEDNESDAY PICKIN’ MOVES INDOORS: The weekly traditional music jam sessions sponsored by Augusta Heritage Center, formerly taking place outdoors in Elkins City Park, have moved indoors to the Community Arts Center, beginning with the month of September. The country music jams are from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the old-time music jams from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to participate (no sound systems or amplifiers) and all instruments and levels are welcome. There will be signage at the rear entrance to the Arts Center and well as in the parking lots. For more information, call 304-614-9527.
MEETING: The Randolph County Association of Retired School Personnel will meet Friday, Sept. 26 at the Steer Steakhouse in Elkins. Lunch will be at noon, with the meeting at 12:30 p.m. Marie Shimmel, the WV Regional Representative, will be our speaker. A Memorial Service and Scholarship Auction will be held. OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in.
