TVHS looking for corporate sponsors
MILL CREEK — The COVID-19 pandemic is having many effects on this high school football season, including making it difficult for schools’ athletic budgets to make up for the lack of paying fans at home games.
This fall, the Tygarts Valley High School Athletic Department is seeking Corporate Sponsors for the 2020-2021 seasons by offering signage at the football field and inside the gymnasium.
The department is modifying the sign and corporate sponsorships this season, but is still offering the traditional football field and gym packages.
There are five different packages available for sponsors beginning with the top of the line Platinum Plus Package, which includes: Four season tickets to all home games for all sports; a premium corporate sign on football scoreboard and gym scoreboard; a sign on the football parking lot fence; a personalized announcement during halftime of all home games; a full page ad in the 2020-2021 football program; a complimentary 2020-2021 football program; company logo and link to your company on the TVHS website; game sponsor during one home varsity football game and two home basketball games; opportunities for marketing tent/table during game sponsor night; and sponsorship banner to hang in place of business.
The other four packages being offered by the TVHS Athletic Department are the Platinum Package, Gold Package, Silver Package and Bronze Package.
The school is also looking for donations for the following items: special recognition plaques for all-state and school record athletes, varsity letters, certificates, pre-wrap tape, first aid supplies, field/court maintenance, coaching sideline clothing, balls for every sport, scorebooks, Hudl subscription for football and basketball, football helmet reconditioning, new football and basketball uniforms, goal post replacement, individual athlete assistance for shoes and other equipment, installation of streaming cameras, and face shields for football (to help prevent spread of COVID).
The gate at home contests, football in particular, helped fund many sports and their needs throughout the season. With spectators for events now limited to family only because of COVID-19, paying for everything is going to be difficult for athletic departments.
“We did really well at all of our home football games last season,” said Tygarts Valley Athletic Director Melissa Walters.
“Without that money coming in this year from football and everything else, it’s going to be difficult to get the things we need.”
