Officials said a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox rear-ended a 2016 Freightliner dump truck stopped at the red light. There were no skid marks or evidence that the driver of the Equinox attempted to stop before the collision, police said. Both drivers were transported by Randolph County EMS to Davis Medical Center for treatment. The Coalton and Elkins Fire Departments and West Virginia PSC Captain E. George assisted on scene. The crash is still under investigation.
