Multiple Elkins Streets Flooding

ELKINS – The City of Elkins has announced that flooding on South Randolph Avenue is causing traffic issues this morning.

“South Randolph Ave. is currently flooded and traffic is backed up in the area,” a City of Elkins press release states. “Please use 11th St. or alternative routes to navigate through town at this time.”

The release warns of “major flooding in various parts of Elkins today. Water may be deeper than it appears and manhole coverings may be dislocated. Please use caution on the streets.”

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning through 2:45 p.m. today for Randolph, Barbour, Upshur and Pocahontas counties.

Thunderstorms pelted the area Tuesday and Tuesday night. The area was under a tornado warning for part of Tuesday.
