PARSONS — A man is behind bars after being arrested and accused of sexual abuse in Tucker County.
Timothy Neal Sypolt, 38, of Independence, has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse. He is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
The criminal complaint, prepared by Sgt. Victor J. Pyles, of the Parsons detachment of the West Virginia State Police, responded to a 911 call on Aug. 26. The call was in regard to allegations of sexual abuse.
When Pyles arrived at the residence, Sypolt was not at the home, the complaint states. Later that evening, Pyles and Senior Trooper C.A. Hawkins assisted Child Protective Services with removing two children from the home.
“The allegations made were regarding an incident that occurred in past months,” the complaint states.
A Child Advocacy Center (CAC) interview was conducted on Aug. 28, according to the complaint.
If convicted on the charge, Sypolt could face from five to 25 years in prison, and up to a $5,000 fine.
