BUCKHANNON — The City of Buckhannon will host a movie premiere Saturday, with an actor who famously played the Man of Steel in attendance.

The world premiere of the feature film “Hank’s Christmas Wish 2” will take place at the Event Center at Brushy Fork on 929 Brushy Fork Road in Buckhannon.

The doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Saturday with the premiere starting at 7 p.m. The event will be hosted by the film’s director and writer, Jason Campbell, and actor Dean Cain, who is known for his roles in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” and “God’s Not Dead.”

Filmed in Buckhannon and produced by JCFilms, the “Hank’s Christmas Wish” series of films tells the story of Hank the Elf, a “retired elf from the North Pole who wanted to live a life of seclusion until several unrelentingly cheery town folk helped him regain his Christmas spirit,” Hank is played by Michael Sigler, known for his roles in “Jack Jonah,” “John Light” and “A Child of the King.”

As in the first “Hank” film, Cain plays the fictional mayor of Buckhannon.

“So, what mischief did Hank the Elf get into in ‘Hank’s Christmas Wish 2’?” a City of Buckhannon social media post asks. “Join our cast and experience the magical world of Hank on Dec. 7.”

A sequel to “Hank’s Christmas Wish,” also shot in Buckhannon, the new film will once again follow Hank the Elf as he “helps a local dance studio perform a timeless Christmas classic, ‘The Nutcracker.'”

JCFilms also offered fans the chance to be in “Hank’s Christmas Wish 3,” which will be filming this week, in a walk-on role. Participants could earn a part by donating $900 to JCFilms. According to their website, “100% of your donation goes directly to help more faith and family films.”

Selected participants are also receiving VIP tickets to the premiere of “Hank’s Christmas Wish 2,” a special invitation to attend JCFilms Studios 2024 Christmas Party, dinner and lunch with cast and crew on set, a private dinner or lunch with Campbell and a three nights stay at a hotel in Bridgeport.

The first “Hank’s Christmas Wish” movie is currently streaming for free on Amazon Prime, Tubi and the Roku Channel.

Starting at $3.92/week.
