ELKINS — A total of 23 individuals were indicted by a grand jury in Randolph County Monday, on charges including sexual assault, wanton endangerment and malicious assault.

Steven Mark Clemens, Jr., 40, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on one count of escape by persons in custody of institutions or officers, a felony; and two counts of burglary, a felony.

Clemens allegedly fled police custody at the Randolph County Magistrate Court Office in December, and allegedly hid in a resident’s home in Elkins before being captured

Rocky Lee Wood, 36, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on one count of sexual assault in the first degree, a felony; two counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, a felony; and one count of sexual abuse in the first degree, a felony.

Wood is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a child.

Malachi Joseph Currence, 21, of Elkins, was indicted on one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; and one count of knowingly, keeping or maintaining a dwelling, building, or other structure or place for the purpose of using or selling controlled substances, a misdemeanor.

Currence was arrested after a traffic stop while he was riding a motorcycle in Elkins in December, after officers allegedly found 21 bags of methamphetamine in his possession.

Joseph Lee Shipman, 37, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on one count of malicious assault, a felony; and one count of attempted malicious assault, a felony.

Shipman is accused of running over Jeffrey Stanton of Valley Head with an ATV in the early morning hours of June 30.

Justin Dale Lewis, 36, of Beverly, was indicted on two counts of wanton endangerment involving a firearm, a felony; and one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony.

Lewis is accused of allegedly threatening to shoot two women in Beverly in May.

Darien Lee Robles, 28, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, Belington, was indicted on one count of retaliation against public official or employee, a felony; one count of obstructing an officer, a misdemeanor; and one count of attempted destruction of property, a misdemeanor.

Christopher Scott Earnest, 42, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, in Belington, was indicted on one count of fleeing in a vehicle with reckless indifference, a felony; one count of reckless driving, a misdemeanor; one count of improper registration, a misdemeanor; and one count of failure to stop at a posted stop sign, a misdemeanor.

William Theodore Bishop, Jr., of Elkins, was indicted on one count of fleeing in a vehicle with reckless indifference, a felony; one count of reckless driving, a misdemeanor; one count of defective equipment, a misdemeanor; one count of no insurance, a misdemeanor; one count of expired registration, a misdemeanor; and one count of driving while license suspended, a misdemeanor.

Eric Wayne Robinson, 32, of Valley Head, was indicted on two counts of burglary, a felony; one count of grand larceny, a felony; one count of conspiracy, a felony; and one count of destruction of property, a misdemeanor.

Donald Lee Taylor, 41, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on one count of burglary, a felony; and two counts of domestic battery, third or subsequent offense, a felony.

Timothy Lee Summerfield, 40, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on five counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; one count of conspiracy, a felony; and one count of knowingly, keeping or maintaining a dwelling, building, or other structure or place for the purpose of using or selling controlled substances, a misdemeanor.

Aneta Michelle Summerfield, 59, of Elkins, was indicted on one count of conspiracy, a felony; and one count of knowingly, keeping or maintaining a dwelling, building, or other structure or Place for the purpose of using or selling controlled substances, a misdemeanor.

Jeremy Keith Schoonover, 46, of Elkins, was indicted on one count of burglary, a felony; and one count of malicious assault, a felony.

Maurice Corey Murray, 39, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; and one count of carrying a concealed firearm by a person prohibited from possessing a firearm, a felony.

Kristin Michele Wilburn, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; one count of conspiracy, a felony; and one count of knowingly, keeping or maintaining a dwelling, building, or other structure or place for the purpose of using or selling controlled substances, a misdemeanor.

Patrick Brian New, 44, of Mill Creek, was indicted on two counts of burglary, a felony; one count of grand larceny, a felony; one count of conspiracy, a felony; and one count of destruction of property, a misdemeanor.

James Marshall Lawrence, 30, of Elkins, was indicted on one count of fraudulent schemes, a felony; and 10 counts of uttering, a felony.

Brian Keith Vance, 40, of Beverly, was indicted on one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; and one count of knowingly, keeping or maintaining a dwelling, building, or other structure or place for the purpose of using or selling controlled substances, a misdemeanor.

Jeremy Adam McCauley, 51, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on one count of driving while license revoked for DUI, third offense, a felony; one count of possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, one count of no insurance, a misdemeanor; one count of expired registration, a misdemeanor; and one count of operating a vehicle without motor vehicle inspection sticker, a misdemeanor.

Richard Allen McCune, 37, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on two counts of burglary, a felony; one count of grand larceny, a felony; one count of conspiracy, a felony; and one count of destruction of property, a misdemeanor.

Samantha Jo Shearin, 38, of Elkins, was indicted on one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, second offense, a felony.

Nicholas Dale Daugherty, 35, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on one count of driving while license revoked for DUI, third offense, a felony; one count of improper registration, a misdemeanor; and one count of no insurance, a misdemeanor.

James Allen Shockey, 40, an inmate at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, was indicted on one count of delivery of a controlled substance, a felony.

Bond return for the indictments will be in March, with bonds set and trial dates determined at that time.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
