Tucker County Fair kicks off festivities
PARSONS — The 2025 Tucker County Fair officially kicked off on Monday at Camp Kidd and will continue throughout the week until the grand finale on Saturday.
The annual event’s mission is to celebrate and grow the agriculture industry through 4-H, FFA Livestock, and exhibit projects and shows. The Tucker County Fair prides itself on being a community centered event that features activities and programs for the entire family.
Today’s schedule is billed as “Children’s Night” and marks the opening of carnival rides at the fairgrounds. The carnival will run through Saturday and will be open each evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Food and craft vendors will also be set up nightly.
Both a Rabbit Show in the Barn and the Children’s Pageant at the Main Stage will be offered this evening. Both activities are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
Pony rides, face painting, meet and greet with characters, stuffed animal building, and career exploration are also on today’s schedule.
A cake walk at 5:30 p.m. will kick off Senior Night at the Fair. Beef and Hog Shows in the Barn will be offered at 6 p.m., and a Church and Gospel Sing at the Main Stage at 6:30 p.m. The evening will be capped off with a bingo game at 7:30 p.m.
A Goat and Sheep Show in the Barn, a Truck and Tractor Show at the grounds, and a Pet Show at the Main Stage will highlight Thursday evening’s schedule. The evening will conclude with a Square Dance at the Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.
Activities on Friday will begin with PeeWee and Old Timer Shows in the Barn at 6 p.m. Live music from Philip Bowen will kick off at 7 p.m., and the AG Olympics will be held at the Barn at 8 p.m.
One of the highlights of the Fair will take place Saturday when the Mud Bog competition gets under way at 1 p.m. in the Upper Field. The Buyers Registration and Meal will take place at 4 p.m., and there will be a Pie and Cake Auction at 5 p.m. The Livestock Sale will take place at 6 p.m. All three activities will take place in the Barn.
