EHS Homecoming Court named

ELKINS — Elkins High School has chosen its 2025 Homecoming Court. The Homecoming Queen will be crowned at the EHS football game on Friday at Elkins High School.

Representing the freshmen class will be Emily Tesar. Emily is an EHS cheerleader. In the spring she plans on joining the tennis team. She is a member of EHS class council and student government. She plans on attending West Virginia University to pursue a medical degree with the intention of becoming a pediatrician. She is the daughter of Jennifer Mowrey and Tom Tesar.

Representing the sophomore class will be Lillian Marie Doyle. Lilly is part of the EHS girls soccer team. She also plays club soccer for Mountaineer United. Lilly is a member of EHS student government. She plans on attending West Virginia University with the intention of pursuing a degree in nursing with plans to work in the NICU. She is the daughter of Ricky and Alisha Doyle.

Representing the junior class will be Greylyn Belcher. Greylyn is a three-year member of EHS girls varsity soccer team and is currently serving as the team captain. She is also a member of the FCA travel soccer club. Greylyn plans to attend college with the goal of becoming a dentist. She is the daughter of Chris Belcher and Sabrina Vanscoy.

Princess Lilyana Sue Anderson will represent the senior class. Lilyana is a four-year member of the EHS girls varsity volleyball team. She has served as a peer tutor at EHS. She is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, EHS student government and class council. She is also an active member of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church. Lilyana plans to attend West Virginia University to study exercise physiology and physical therapy. She is daughter of Kent and Hope Anderson.

Princess Lillyana Grace Betler will represent the senior class. Lillyana is a four-year member of the EHS girls soccer team and is a team captain. Lillyana is a 15-year dancer of Center Stage where she is an original member, a choreographer and instructor. She is a member of National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars and class council. She is also an honor student. Lillyana plans to attend college and pursue a career as a flight nurse. She is the daughter of Scott and Lori Betler.

Princess Ayriana Jolie Broughton will represent the senior class. Ayriana is active with the Salvation Army, the Humane Society, Operation Christmas Child and Susan G. Koman Race for the Ribbon. Ayriana is a member of the EHS student government, class council, National Technical Honor Society, National Honor Sociey and Skills USA.

Ayriana plans to attend law school to become a defense attorney. She is the daughter of Marty Broughton and Jill Teter.

Princess Hannah Currence will represent the senior class. Hannah is a member of the EHS volleyball team and has been playing volleyball for seven years. She has also been swimming for five years. Hannah has plans to attend college for radiology to become a cardiovascular sonographer. Hannah is the daughter of Elizabeth and Josh Currence.

Princess Maura O’Neill will represent the senior class. Maura has been playing volleyball for seven years. She has been an EHS varsity volleyball captain for the past two years. She travels around the United States playing club volleyball for Mountain State Storm. Maura plans on playing volleyball in college to pursue a career in dermatology. She is the daughter of Richard and Leah O’Neill.

Princess Madyson Shreve will represent the senior class. Madyson has been on the EHS basketball and softball teams for the last four years. She will be a completer in the Randolph Technical Center Law and Public Safety program. She has been a member of class council for the past four years and is an honor student. Madyson plans on attending Morgantown Beauty College to becom an esthetician. She is the daughter of Eric and Ashley Shreve.

Princess Delia Mae White will represent the senior class. Delia has been running cross country for the past seven years and track for the last three years. She also participates in Jiu-Jitsu and is a YMCA camp counselor. Delia is a member of National Honor Society, student government, class council , Spanish National Honor Society and 4-H. She plans to attend college to pursue a career in nursing with plans to work in labor and delivery. She is the daughter of Amy and stepdad Mitch Marstiller. She is also the daughter of Tim White.

Princess Jaden Paige Workman will represent the senior class. Jaden works for Jimbo’s and enjoys spending time with her family. She is a member of Skills USA and is an intern at Vandalia Health with the CWST program. Her future plans are to attend college and purse a degree in a medical field. She is the daughter of Mary and Chad Workman.

Princess Jasmine Brook Workman will represent the senior class. Jasmine is a member of the EHS volleyball team and has been a captain for the last two years. She is a member of Skills USA and is an intern at Vandalia Health with the CWST program. Her future plans are to attend West Virginia University to pursue a medical degree. She is the daughter of Mary and Chad Workman.

Princess Madison Zirkle will represent the senior class. Madison is an EHS varsity basketball player and the EHS volleyball team where she has been a captain for the last two years. In the off-season she participates in Flash travel basketball. She is a two year intern at Vandalia Health with the CWST program. She is also a member of Skills USA. Madison plans on attending college to pursue a career in nursing. She is the daughter of Joshua and Cassie Zirkle.

This year’s flower girl is Avaleigh Renee Burgess. She attends Shining Light Learning Center, where she is in preschool. Avaleigh is the daughter of John Burgess and Hillary Paugh. Her grandparents are Neal and Kim Paugh, Dwight and Linda Burgess and Kevin and Peggy Hedrick.

The crown bearer is Everett Todd Wamsley. He attends Third Ward Elementary where is in the kindergarten. Everett is the son of Andrew and Sarah Wamsley. His grandparents are Darroll and Cindy Talbott and Todd and Lisa Wamsley. His great grandparents are Bob and Dottie Wamsley.

The 2024 Homecoming Queen Gianna Backus will crown the 2025 queen. Gianna is the daughter of Ingrid Backus and Phil Backus. She attends West Virginia University where she is majoring in communication sciences and disorders. She is in the honors college and is a member of the national student speech language hearing association. She will be a Mountain State Forest Festival princess this year.
