Moore announces more than $3 million recovered for W.Va.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Congressman Riley M. Moore, R-2nd District, announced that he and his office have officially recovered millions in funding for West Virginia.

Moore said he was proud to announce he and his team have recovered more than $3 million for West Virginians since he took office on Jan. 3.

“My team and I are proud to announce that we have officially recovered more than $3 million for West Virginians,” Moore said in a press release. “I am so proud of the work that we are doing, and am thrilled to report such a large sum returned to the hardworking people of West Virginia just eight months into my term.

“I will always fight for West Virginians as long as I’m in Washington. Anyone in the Second District that has an issue with the federal government — don’t wait, call us! We are here to help.”

The funding recovered for constituents includes:

More than $1.8 million from the Internal Revenue Service;

More than $1 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture;

More than $348,000 from the Social Security Administration;

More than $31,000 from the Department of Veterans Affairs;

More than $23,000 from the Department of Defense;

More than $20,900 from the Department of the Army

More than $18,000 from the Bureau of Prisons.

Moore’s casework team is based in the Morgantown and Martinsburg district offices. The staff are well-trained in dealing with the federal bureaucracy and stand ready to assist constituents who are having issues with any federal agency, according to a Moore press release.
