Randolph County man faces felony DUI charge

DAILEY — A Randolph County man faces a felony charge after allegedly driving a four wheeler with a revoked license for the third time.

Jason Anthony Peyatt, 46, is charged with third offense driving with license revoked, a felony. Peyatt is currently being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $5,000 cash-only bond set by Randolph County Magistrate Benjamin Shepler.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Trooper H. J. Bonetti with the West Virginia State Police, on Nov. 9, Bonetti was conducting road patrol on US-219 northbound in Dailey when he observed Peyatt allegedly operating a four wheeler.

Bonetti followed and observed Peyatt until Peyatt parked near Valley Steel, the complaint states. When Bonetti asked Peyatt for his operator’s license, Peyatt allegedly said he left it at home. Bonetti then ran Peyatt’s name and date of birth through the Elkins West Virginia State Police Communications, who located Peyatt’s license.

Communications advised Bonetti that Peyatt’s license had been revoked for DUI and that Peyatt had two prior convictions for driving with license revoked for DUI in 2013 and 2014, the complaint states. Peyatt allegedly told Bonetti that he had traveled on the four wheeler from his residence to Dollar General and was “returning to his residence from Dollar General.”
