Randolph OEM issues blizzard warning for today, Thursday
ELKINS — A blizzard warning alert for today and Thursday has been released by the Randolph County Office of Emergency Management and 911.
According to the alert, released at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday, the blizzard warning will run from 10 a.m. today to 10 a.m. Thursday.
The alert reads, “blizzard conditions (are) expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches. Wind gusting as high as 45 mph.”
The alert was issued for Southeast Randolph, Northeast Pocahontas and Southeast Webster counties.
The blizzard warning alert said that “Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.”
