‘Reindeer Games’ event to offer several activities

ELKINS — Third Street Tattoo Studio is hosting a Christmas event for the entire family on Saturday billed as “The Reindeer Games.”

The first annual event, which will feature an abundance of activities for the young and old, will be ongoing at two locations, the Third Street Tattoo Studio from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the Seneca Mall Atrium from noon until 5 p.m.

Emily Standridge, co-owner of Third Street Tattoo, organized the event and is hoping families will come out and enjoy everything the event has to offer.

“I just wanted to do a fun winter activity for the people of Elkins, because there is not much to do here in the winter,” Standridge said. “Hopefully we can keep events like this going every year and the goal is to make them bigger and better each time that we do them. Hopefully we have a good turnout.”

There is a small fee for the event, but Standridge doesn’t want that to keep families from coming out.

“If there is a family that wants to come and they can’t afford the entry fee, they can private message me or find me or my husband (Dustin) and we will waive the fee,” Standridge said. “We don’t want anyone to not come because of the cost of getting in.”

Activities going on throughout the day at the Seneca Mall Atrium include bounce houses, inflatable ax throwing, bean bag toss, pin the tail on the donkey, ornament making, and crafts.

“There will be a lot for kids to do and we are also having Christmas characters including elves and Santa Clause,” Standridge said. “Kids are going to be able to do a drawing of a Reindeer and which every one Mayor Jerry Marco likes the most, will receive a Reindeer Games 2025 Award.”

Standridge said drinks and snacks will be available for those attending and that raffles will be given out to winners throughout the day.

“We are going to have two Princesses there for a meet-and-greet and Frost the Snowman as well,” Standridge said. “There are going to be gift baskets that will be given away during hourly drawings. There are a bunch of free items that people can win through our raffle, including two huge gift baskets at the end of the day that have two weekend vacations that include hotel stays.”

Gift cards to a host of local restaurants in the area will also be given away and a handful of food vendors will be attending the event.

“There’s going to be a lot going on at the Atrium and my studio, it’s going to be a wonderful time,” Standridge said. “There are going to be tons of vendors selling food and lots of local businesses are going to be involved as well as craft vendors.”

Pastor Time Edin will be reading Christmas Stories at Third Street Tattoo at 1 p.m. and will be leading Christmas caroling at 2 p.m.. Third Street Tattoo will be offering specials on flash tattoos and will be doing piercings throughout the day. Every child that comes to the store for stories or caroling will receive a free flashlight as well as cookies and a drink.
