School bus wrecks on ‘black ice’ in Upshur

The bus driver struck black ice and lost control of the bus, which went up on the embankment, according to police. The driver and 25 school-age children were on the bus at the time of the crash. One child was transported to the hospital, while the others were checked and transported on another bus from the scene. Route 20 was shut down for an extended period of time. Assisting agencies included the West Virginia State Police, Adrian Fire Department, Banks District Fire Department and Upshur County EMS.
