PHILIPPI — One person died and two people were injured in connection with a Friday afternoon residence fire in Barbour County, officials said.

The fire was reported at a home on Sand Run Road, about five miles from Philippi, at approximately noon Friday.

When crews arrived on the scene of the blaze they found a “fully involved structure” and it was confirmed that there was entrapment within the house, according to a post by the Philippi Volunteer Fire Department.
