ELKINS - The Elkins Sanitary Board meets Monday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. Meeting agendas, packets, and minutes are available through the city's Agenda Center. Utility and in-city Fire & Rescue Fee bills are due Oct. 20. Third-quarter 2026 Business & Occupation tax returns are due Oct. 31. The Treasurer's Department and Utility Billing are now operating from City Hall, 401 Davis Avenue. Residents can sign up for emergency and other time-sensitive city notifications at cityofelkinswv.gov/alert-center. Student government discusses Spirit Week decisions

During the week of homecoming, students have a blast celebrating by participating in Spirit Week. The student government association increases participation in Spirit Week with unique themes.  Spirit Week has many different themes to the week, which include Anything But a Backpack day, Adam Sandler day, Welcome to The Jungle day, Throwback Thursday, and lastly Wear your Class Color day for the homecoming football game.  The week of amusement was decided by the spirit week committee in the student government association. Commission gives Meals on Wheels more funds

ELKINS - The Randolph County Commission has agreed to provide additional funds to the Randolph County Meals on Wheels program. The County Commission currently provides $5,000 in funding each year to the program as part of its budget. During an information presentation at the last commission meeting, Rhonda Coffman, a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, talked about the program's budget shortfall and made a request for more funding in the future.
