Missing man found alive

BUCKHANNON - Officials from the City of Buckhannon and the Upshur County Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management announce that Christopher James Chenoweth, previously reported as a missing and endangered person, has been located alive. Chenoweth was found earlier Friday in Randolph County, where he was safely contacted by responding units. He is currently with the West Virginia State Police, who are coordinating next steps and ensuring his wellbeing. Flood warning, storm watch in effect

ELKINS - A flash flood warning is in effect in Randolph County until 6:30 p.m., Randolph County Nixle has announced. In addition, the National Weather Service has put a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 9 p.m. for Randolph, Upshur, Barbour, Tucker and Pocahontas counties.

Commission rescinds EMS levy vote plan

ELKINS - On Thursday afternoon, the Randolph County Commission rescinded the excess levy vote for the Randolph County Ambulance Authority that was approved in August.      The RCC had voted put the levy vote on the November General Election ballot after problems arose with the Special Emergency Ambulance Service Fee Ordinance commissioners approved back in April.    Just after the fee went into effect in July, the County Commission suspended it after the state Tax Department informed commissioners that the fee violated the streamlined sales tax agreement.    At a County ...
