Carolyn Sue Phillips Roy

Carolyn was born on Thursday, Feb. 2, 1956, to Luther Phillips and Wavie Mick Phillips.

On July 8, 1977, in Oakland, Maryland, she was married to Michael R. Roy, who survives in Auburn, Indiana. They had celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Also left to cherish Carolyn’s memory are two daughters, Connie Jewell and husband, Neil, and Michelle Watson and husband, Jason, all of Auburn, Indiana; two granddaughters, Caitlin Jewell and Kaylee Watson; three sisters, Linda Kittle of Belington, Alice Phillips of Parkersburg and Shirley Tyson and husband, Baker, of Stephenson, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Patty Roy of Parsons and Kathy Leach and husband, Ernie, of Garrett, Indiana; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members; and a few special family friends, Teca Slone, Angie Combs and Amy Hunt.

Preceding Carolyn in death besides her parents were four brothers, Jack Phillips, Kenny Phillips, Lee Phillips and Michael Phillips; one sister, June Ann Phillips; and one brother-in-law, Butch Roy.

Carolyn attended the schools of Tucker County worked at the Tucker County Hospital in West Virginia before working for several retail establishments. She was strong in her Christian Faith and she enjoyed shopping and traveling. Most important to Carolyn was spending time with her family and friends, especially her two granddaughters.

Carolyn’s request for cremation was honored.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced.

Interment will take place at Parsons City Cemetery in Parsons.
