Charles Frederick ‘Hack’ Ramsey
								RAMSEY
Mr. Charles Frederick “Hack” Ramsey, 83 a resident of Belington, departed this life Wednesday evening, Jan. 18, 2023, at his home. Although his health was failing, death was unexpected.
He was born Nov. 8, 1939, in Belington, West Virginia, a son of the late William J. and Oleta B. Digman Ramsey.
He is survived by two children, Charles C. Ramsey of Belington and Teresa Hutzler and husband, Mike of Junior; two grandsons, Josh and Andrew Ramsey; and one great-grandchild, Tiberius Ramsey.
Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and also great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Ramsey, Ronald “Peewee” Ramsey and Floyd Ramsey; two sisters, A. Faye Reams and C. Jean Ketchem; and his step-father, Robert Kittle. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Ramsey attended the schools of Barbour County and was a Protestant by faith. He was a former employee of Kingsford Charcoal and McLean’s plumbing and heating, and he held various other jobs in the Belington area over the years. For the past eight years, he helped in the laundry room at the Laurel View Apartments. He loved dogs, hunting, fishing and thoroughly enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, from noon to 2 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmie E. Tallman officiating.
Interment will then follow in the Concord Cemetery near Belington.
