Floyd Fay Riley Sr.

Floyd Fay Riley Sr., 97, a resident of Beverly, West Virginia, departed this life Sunday evening, Jan. 15, 2023, at the Davis Medical Center at Elkins, West Virginia.
He was born Sunday, March 28, 1925, at Grafton, West Virginia, a son of the late George Playford and Martha Elizabeth Bartlett Riley.
On April 17, 1955, at Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, he was married to the former Helen Blanche Parson, who preceded him in death May 11, 2011.
Surviving are one son, Floyd Fay Riley Jr., and wife, Debra, of Wilmington, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Sarah Riley of Pasadena, Maryland, and William Kent of Denver, Colorado.
Floyd was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Preceding him in death are one brother, Harold Riley; and one sister, Helen Doris Riley Barrick.
He attended the schools of Grafton, West Virginia. He was a Proud Veteran of the United States Army, having served in WWII. He worked in construction at a power plant in Clarksburg and was a self-employed carpenter. His hobbies included building shelves and stools. He loved his grandchildren tremendously.
Mr. Riley’s request for cremation was honored and inurnment will follow at a later date at the Woodsdale Memorial Park at Grafton, West Virginia.
