Butch graduated from Parsons High School with the class of 1974 and was known for his talent playing football. He went on to further his education, having graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Butch worked as a funeral director for several funeral homes before returning to Tucker County, where he served as the night auditor at Canaan Valley Resort. He gave back to the community by volunteering as a coach for little league football and enjoyed watching his former players succeed throughout their high school careers. Butch enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR and ball games, but the hobby he was most passionate about was playing his guitars. Everyone who heard the J.W. Long Band, or the Big Dawgs play, knew his passion for his music. His humor and stories could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
