Marian B. Sublett

Marian was born May 9, 1946, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Robert and Loraine (Upton) Mitchell.

Marian was united in marriage on March 14, 1964, to Arthur P. “Corkey” Sublett Jr., who survives at home.

Also surviving are sons, Shon Sublett and wife, Nyoka, and Scott Sublett and wife, Denise, all of Philippi; grandchildren, Shaina Sublett, Kelci, Gavin, Devin, Sawyer, Elliott and Brittany; great-grandchildren, Brylee, Aurora and Yana; brother, Rodney Mitchell and wife, Linda, of Philippi; niece, Amanda Sisson and husband, Ryan, and their children, Tyler and Trevin of Philippi

Marian enjoyed tending to her flowers, collecting antiques, crocheting and shopping. Marian especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and loved to go to the beach. Marian was a Methodist by Faith.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta “Bobbie Jo” Sublett.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory, 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi, on Thursday, Jan. 5, from 5-8 p.m. and on Friday. Jan. 6, from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
