Rella Magdaline Bennett Bodkins

Rella was born Monday, Jan. 6, 1941, in Whitmer, a daughter of the late Ezra Bennett and Edith Rose Lamb Bennett.

On June 6, 1958, in Elkins, she married Wilmoth C. “Wimpy” Bodkins, who preceded her in death on June 6, 2007.

Left to cherish Rella’s memory are two sons, Raymond Bodkins and wife, Melissa, of Morgantown, and Wilmoth J. “Wimpy” Bodkins and wife, Mandy, of Beverly; two grandchildren that she dearly loved, Jonathan and Adrianna Bodkins; two sisters, Reva Primovero and husband, Frank, of Ohio, and Rachel Martin of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Rella in death besides her parents and husband was three sisters, Monna Shroyer, Nancy Poole and Sharon Bennett; and two brothers, Robert and Donald Bennett.

Rella attended the schools of Randolph County and had worked as a housekeeper at Snowshoe. She enjoyed being outdoors, taking walks, looking at the fall leaves, and going to the Whitmer Homecoming.

She loved her family and friends and looked forward to spending time with them. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Valley Head.

A visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Valley Head Cemetery.
