Barbara Ellen Phillips

Barbara Ellen Phillips, 90, a resident of Junior, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday July 23, 2024, at the Broaddus Long Term Facility.

Barbara was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Philippi, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Issac and Ellen (Kelley) Dadisman.

Surviving are two sons, James (Carol) Harris and Roger Harris, both of Junior; grandchildren are Brett Harris of Philippi, Ramie Harris (Shykena) Harris of Junior, Traci Gallagher of Nashville and Aaron Harris (Lana) of Belington.Great-grandchildren include Kiara Vanscoy of Morgantown, Jonna Tanner of Philippi, Paige Tanner of Belington, Jameson Harris of Junior, Emma Harris of Fairview, West Virginia, Jensen Harris of Belington and Lainey Harris of Belington. Nieces, Kathy Price of Belington, Brenda Linger of Philippi; nephews, Tom Dadisman of Philippi, Johnny Heimaster of Columbus, Ohio, Harry and David Miller of Nitro, West Virginia, Todd Athey of Virginia and Mark Athey of Tennessee; son-in-law. Dale “Rat” Talbott and companion, Peggy; ex-daughter-in-law, Laura Canterbury; and a very special friend, Jo Ellen Skidmore; and a special great-niece. Kelly Robinson and husband, Steve.

Barbara was preceded in death by first husband, Harrison “Clon” Harris; second husband, Everett Phillips; daughter, Debbie Talbott; son, Joe Harris; sisters, Annabelle Heimster, Janice Dadisman, Charlotte Miller, Jeannie Koontz, Kay Francis Dadisman, Nancy Athey and Joan Dadisman; and one brother, Robert Dadisman; two nephews, Mike Koontz and Philip Koontz.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Barbara graduated from Philippi High School in 1952. She was co-owner of Harris Snack Bar and Texaco in Junior. She was a life member of the Belington VFW Laurel Mountain Post 410 Ladies Auxiliary.

Everyone knew her as “Mom Barb.” She was well known for her cooking skills and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Thursday July 25, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. and again on Friday July 26, 2024, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., the funeral hour, at which time final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmie E. Tallman officiating.

Interment will then follow in the Trinity Cemetery near Belington.
