Harry Owens Daniels

Harry Owens Daniels, 88, a resident of Beverly, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center under the care of Mountain Hospice.
He was born Aug. 22, 1935, at Files Creek, a son of the late Rufus W. “Bud” Daniels and Cleona Butcher Daniels. On Oct. 1, 1965, at Oakland, Marland, he was married to Carolyn L. Defibaugh, who survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Carl L. Daniels and wife, Janice, of Beverly; one sister, Connie M. Pingley of Beverly; and several special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Dempsy, Coy, Forrest “Bud” and Ralph “Smoke” Daniels; and three sisters, Imojene “Jean” Keller, Nina Pauline Edwards and Dora Lee Newlon.
Harry was a beteran of the United States Army. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator, having retired from Southern Paving of West Virginia. Harry had a special love for the outdoors and hunting.
Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with Bishop Larry McArthur and Keith Hamrick officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman where presentation of the American flag will be made by members of the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard Program.
