Lola M. Stover Plumley

Lola M. Stover Plumley, 93, passed away from this life to eternal life Aug. 24, 2024, at Davis Medical Center, surrounded by family.

She was born Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1931, in Cottageville, West Virginia, to the late Orville Thomas (Peck) Stover and Focie Jackson Herdman Stover.

On July 9, 1949, at Ripley, West Virginia, she was married to the late Edward Ernest Plumley, who preceded her in death June 26, 1998.

She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Clyde, Glenmer, Carl, Doyle and Boyd; and two sisters, Macie DeWeese and Cleo Kernhan; two grandsons, Joshua Eddie Plumley and Joseph Wilson Plumley; and one son-in-law, James Bava.

Left to cherish her memories are four sons, Thomas (Christine) Plumley, Boyd (Bimbo) Plumley, Michael (Tammy) Plumley and Carl (Barb) Plumley; two daughters, Joyce (Davd) Kyle and Donna Jean Bava; 11 grandchildren, Leroy, Rocky, Keith, Amy, Logan, Jason, Jasmine, Monica, Heather, Kevin and Angela; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She and Edward spent the winter months in Florida and other states from 1989 to his death on June 26, 1998. She was a cook at the Parsons Grade School for 9 years — also teachers aid at head start and the former Penn Ave. Dairy. She was a Christian and avid reader of the Bible. She enjoyed the many crafts that she had learned while on the road.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, West Virginia, on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, from noon until 2 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Reverend Kevin Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, West Virginia.
