Freda M. Lake

Freda was born Dec. 18, 1940, in Philippi, a daughter of Loring Nebraska and Bessie Jane (Wine) Wagner.

Freda was united in marriage to Cecil Lake.

Freda enjoyed tending to her flower beds, watching the hummingbirds and family get-togethers.

Freda is survived by her husband, Cecil Lake; daughters, Cecilia Lake and Phil Haller, Sunny Lake and John Cutright; grandchildren, Jeremy Lake and wife, Anna, Jason Lake and Devin, Cyndi Mayle and husband, Eddie, and Jamie Lake; great-grandchildren, Taylor Mayle, Brody Mayle, Avah Johnson and Ivy Lake; sister, Ruby McDonald and husband, Roy; and several nieces and nephews.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents, Loring and Bessie Wagner; son, Matthew Lake; granddaughter, Suzanne Hollen; and brothers, James Wagner, Frank Wagner and Paul Wagner.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory, 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi, on Friday, Oct. 4, from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m., with Speaker Joey Simmons officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Bryan Memorial Mausoleum.
