Eva Louise Smith Markley

Eva Louise Smith Markley, 76, a resident of Mabie, passed from this life Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, at home.
Eva was born Sunday, Jan. 9, 1949, in Cassity, a daughter of the late Delpha Ellsworth Smith and Gertrude Zirkle Smith.
She was married to Ronald Douglas Markley, who preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are two children, Jonathan M. Markley and companion, Carla Poling, of Mabie, and Rita L. Larson and husband, Brian, of Chesapeake, Virginia; two grandchildren, Travis Michael Ramsey and wife, Kristen, and Jordan Brice Findley and wife, Catherine; one sister, Janice Markley; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were five siblings, James, Leonard, Carol Smith, Virginia Cutright and Doris Arnold. Eva was a graduate of the Coalton Twelve Year School and obtained her nursing degree from Davis & Elkins College. She had been employed as a registered nurse at Davis Memorial Hospital and Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center. She enjoyed being outdoors, flower gardening, hunting and fishing. Eva loved music, playing the guitar and singing. She was an excellent cook. Eva will be missed by all who knew her, especially her fur babies.
