Dorothy Louise Knicley Judy, 79, a resident of Parsons, West Virginia, departed this life Sunday evening, Dec. 21, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of West Virginia Caring Hospice.

She was born Saturday, Sept. 28, 1946, at Grafton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Warren B. and Dottie Anna Williams Knicley.

On July 24, 1965, at Oakland, Maryland, she was married to James Lynn “Jimmy” Judy, who survives at Parsons. They had celebrated 60 years of marriage, although they had been partners since the sixth grade.

Also surviving are two sons, David Lee Judy of Parsons and Warren Douglas Judy and wife, Sarah, of Hambleton; one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Judy Auvil and husband, Bruce, of Parsons; one sister, Rebecca Ann Knicley Pennington and husband, Richard, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; six grandchildren, Danielle Lee Zulauf and husband, Wade, James Douglas Judy and wife, Katie, Elizabeth Anne Roberts and husband, Frank, Melinda “Mindy” Lou Mauzy and husband, Tyler, Marissa Brooke Judy and Cameron Warren Judy; nine great- grandchildren, Juniper, Lucy, Oren, Nora, Austin, Audrey, Wade, Harrison and Jack; and one niece, Rachel Pennington.

Preceding her in death is one sister, Linda Lou Knicley.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1964. She attended Morgantown Beauty College and opened her own Beauty Shop in 1982. She became a Recorder for Tucker County and became the Mayor of Parsons in 2009 and remained as Mayor until her illness. She had served 16 years with the city and was devoted to the residents of Parsons. Dorothy was a very dedicated member at the First Baptist Church of Parsons. She was also a member of the Homemakers and the Red Hat Society. She loved her collection of Angels and Elvis memorabilia and enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith Show. Dorothy was a beautiful lady in many ways, was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother with an unconditional love. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laughter.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, West Virginia, on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

On Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, Mrs. Judy will be moved to the First Baptist Church of Parsons, West Virginia, where friends may be received from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., the funeral hour.

The Rev. Cecil Hines will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows.
