John Lewis Cross, a resident of Elkins, departed this life on July 16, 2024, at the Davis Medical Center in Elkins. Death was unexpected however he had been in declining health over the past couple of years. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Paul Brady officiating. Larry Eugene Knicley, 89, a resident of Parsons, West Virginia, departed this life Sunday morning, July 21, 2024, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living & Retirement Center, with his family by his side and under the care of West Virginia Caring Hospice. He was born Wednesday, March 27, 1935, in Tucker County, on Clover at St. George, West Virginia, a son of the late Flora Elizabeth Whetzel Knicley. Carl D. Puffenbarger, 89, of Palm Bay, Florida, and Brandywine, West Virginia, died Thursday, July 18, 2024, as the result of a motor vehicle accident near his home.
