Cold, wintry weather has set in for Barbour County
Hello from Barbour County. I do believe that cold weather has set in. Brrr.
Congratulations to the Philip Barbour High School football team, state semi finalists. Your county is proud of your achievements.
Barbour County Fairgrounds is hosting Christmas “Cookies and Cocoa” today, Dec. 6 from 1- 6 p.m. at the quonset hut at the fairgrounds.
There will be cookies to purchase as well as delicious cocoa. Stop by and support this fundraiser as you get ready for the Christmas season.
Also today there will be a Sports and Gaming Card Show at Battlers Knob from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This is free admission and you can come out to buy, sell, or trade cards. If you would like to set up a table, there will be a cost. For more information, contact 304-688-6077.
On Dec. 13, Belington Elementary School will be having a Christmas craft show from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be crafts and vendors, a gift card raffle, chorus presentation, concessions, coronation and more. For more information, call 304-319-0255.
Once again, the Asbury UMC would like to invite you to their Annual Community Christmas Cantata with singers from several local churches. It is entitled “Christmas around the World.” This will take place on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome! Refreshments will follow.
Barbour County Strutters will be having their Christmas recital on Dec. 19 at the Funkhouser Auditorium at Battlers Knob. The doors open at 6 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m. A donation will get you in the door. Food and drinks will be available.
There will be no school in Barbour County from Dec. 22 – Jan. 2. Have a great and safe break.
