Alumni association needs volunteers

The Elkins High Alumni Association has been at it for close to 27 years.

Its purpose is to assist the high school and its programs when money is short. We assist everything from academics to theater and music to athletics.

We also assist some of the school clubs when they perform for state and even national competitions.

We have assisted local civic organizations that have sponsored after prom and after graduation gatherings as well.

Our biggest contribution is the scholarship fund which we give to one Elkins High graduate that wants to extend their education to go on to college or trade school. Here’s where we need your help.

We need fresh faces to assist us to continue this organization … new members. If you are an alumnus of Elkins High School or maybe you’re not an Elkins grad and just want help the kids, contact us and become part of the Elkins High Alumni Association.

Your son or daughter may have indirectly received assistance from the Alumni Association for the band, an academies club or athletic team. Your son or daughter may have been a recipient of the scholarship to continue their education.

We like to see the kids of Elkins High School succeed in whatever it is they are involved in. They represent our town.

If you like to help our kids and you bleed orange and black, we’d like to speak to you. Contact any member. We meet the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Steer Family Steak House on the Beverly Five-lane.

Please help us keep the Elkins High Alumni Association going. We want to help the kids.
