Tigers cruise to 48-18 win over Minutemen

WESTON — Logan Beam rushed for 184 yards and found the end zone four times in the first half as Elkins rolled to a 48-18 win over Lewis County on Friday night.
Beam scored on runs of 18, 13, 14 and 9 as the Tigers built a 41-3 lead at halftime.
Jaden Hatfield scored a pair of touchdowns on bursts of 9 and 18 and Beam’s TD made it 21-3 after the opening quarter.
Aiden Oldaker had a 30-yard field goal to account for the Minutemen’s opening-quarter points.
Seth Robinson, who had 82 yards on the ground, added a 10-yard score in the second half for Elkins, which blocked two punts over the first two quarters.
Lewis County’s Leo Jones had a 9-yard touchdown run and Zeke Brown a scoring pass to Landry Cogar in the second half.
The Tigers (3-0) will renew their rivalry with Buckhannon-Upshur next Friday at home.
The Minutemen (0-3) entertain East Fairmont the same evening.
